Everything You Need To Know About Boston Logan Airport
Officially it’s Boston Logan International Airport, but ask any local and they'll just say "Logan." The airport serves as New England's primary hub, handling everyone from business travelers heading downtown to tourists bound for Cape Cod. And much like the city itself – with its rotaries, one-way streets, and neighborhoods that pre-date the American Revolution – Logan has its own particular logic.
Terminal Chaos
Here's what you need to know: Terminal A is NOT connected to the other terminals post-security, making connections unnecessarily complicated. If you're flying Delta, they offer a shuttle. Otherwise, you'll need to exit security and re-enter at your connecting terminal. Oh, and there's no Terminal D – it jumps straight from C to E. Because, Boston.
Getting There and Away
Take a taxi or use public transit. Rideshare regulations make Uber and Lyft both inconvenient and expensive here. Instead, familiarize yourself with the free buses outside baggage claim:
Routes 22, 33, 55, or 66 connect to the Blue Line subway
SL1 goes directly to South Station
Routes 22, 55, and 88 head to the Rental Car Center
Route 66 will also take you to the water ferry downtown
Food and Amenities
Stick with the local options: Legal Sea Foods, Kelly's Roast Beef, Santarpio's, and of course, Dunkin'. Fair warning: nearly everything closes early, often by 8 or 9 PM, especially in Terminal C. Logan doesn't have many lounges, but the new Chase Sapphire Lounge is worth seeking out if you have access.
